Course Description
Studies of Awareness, Movement & Living
Studies of Awareness, Movement & Living is an educational approach that takes the body, movement, and direct experience as starting points for understanding.
The program brings together conscious practice, study, and observation, drawing on Taijiquan, Qigong, Yoga, cognitive sciences, Daoist philosophy, Vedic traditions, and principles of lifestyle design. Its purpose is not simply to teach a set of movements or transmit theoretical knowledge, but to cultivate the capacity to observe, regulate, learn, and live with greater awareness in everyday life.
Throughout the process, each practice is shaped and guided according to the student’s circumstances, needs, and learning process, creating a lasting connection between practical experience, theoretical understanding, and its application in daily life.
Here, “study” does not mean intellectual study alone. It is an integrated process of observation, experience, practice, dialogue, and understanding, in which learning unfolds through the body, movement, and lived experience.
Course Structure
The program is built around three complementary elements that are explored as an integrated whole throughout the course:
1. Study & Understanding
An introduction to cognitive sciences, Daoist philosophy, Vedic traditions, the philosophical schools of Yoga, and other perspectives related to awareness, movement, and ways of living.
2. Experience & Practice
Guided practices based on Taijiquan, Qigong, breathwork, stillness, attention, and, where appropriate, selected Yoga practices, with an emphasis on presence and direct experience.
3. Application in Life
Bringing what is learned into everyday life through individual practice, refinement of habits, regulation of energy, development of attention, and the cultivation of a more conscious way of living.
Each course is designed progressively according to the level and needs of its participants. Practices can be revisited and adapted throughout the learning process.
Learning Objectives
The program aims to cultivate skills that extend beyond the classroom and become applicable to everyday life:
- Developing greater awareness of the body, movement, and breath
- Cultivating sustained attention and presence in experience
- Improving movement quality and bodily coordination
- Exploring perspectives on awareness and movement across Eastern traditions and contemporary sciences
- Developing observation, self-regulation, and experiential learning
- Understanding the relationship between body, mind, behavior, and lifestyle
- Establishing a foundation for sustained practice and personal development
Approach & Values
The program is grounded in deep, practical learning rather than the repetition of movements or the transmission of information alone.
- Integrating theoretical understanding with direct experience within a coherent educational framework
- Drawing on Taijiquan, Qigong, Yoga, and other practices according to the needs of the student
- Developing individual practices in response to each participant’s circumstances and learning process
- Giving equal attention to movement, understanding, lifestyle, and the quality of learning
- Creating a calm, precise environment grounded in observation and experience
- Emphasizing continuity of practice and the application of learning in everyday life
Who Is This For?
This program is suited to those who:
- Want to explore Taijiquan, Qigong, or practices rooted in awareness and presence
- Are interested in the relationship between body, mind, and ways of living
- Want to develop their practice through understanding and experience rather than imitation alone
- Are looking for a practical approach to personal development informed by both contemporary knowledge and traditional perspectives
- Want to cultivate the quality of their attention, movement, and everyday life over time
No previous experience is required. The learning process is adapted to each student’s level and experience.
Why Study Here?
The educational approach is not centered on transmitting knowledge or teaching a predetermined set of movements. It is concerned with creating a coherent, individual learning process.
Learning unfolds through direct experience, ongoing study, and purposeful practice. Each student is observed in relation to their circumstances, capacities, and progress, allowing practices to be developed and refined according to their individual path.
The program draws on years of study, teaching, and practical experience in Taijiquan, Qigong, Yoga, cognitive sciences, Eastern philosophies, and lifestyle design, with the intention of transforming learning into a lasting capacity that can be carried into everyday life.
